SH OutPour Day 2
Day 2
Greetings! Today on our Sr. High OutPour we woke up, ate
breakfast, (burritos again, of course) and headed off to the WHWC. We finished
the garden boxes that we started yesterday, and in my (slightly biased) opinion
they are very well put together, and they look pretty nice too. They even have
wheels! While some of us were working on the boxes, others were inside (in the
wonderful AC) touching up and repainting some walls. Let’s just say we had some
pretty awesome bonding moments, and I may or may not have gotten more paint on
myself than the wall… All in all it was a great workday! Now we are cleaning up
and looking forward to a night on the Riverwalk and some (hopefully) delicious
barbeque! –Cate Ghormley

Day 1 SH OutPour - San Antonio
Day 1 - Report from the field
Today on Sr. High Mission trip we woke up to a wonderful
cooked breakfast of burritos made by the girls then headed to Wesley Health and
Wellness Center where we organized a HUGE room of donations and created mobile
garden boxes for Wesley Health and Wellness Center. Upon arrival we realized
that the Wellness Center was not just a small building where we would be
cramped and crowded, better yet it was a large multi-room building that seemed
to be the one-stop place for all of ones needs. WHWC (Wesley Health and
Wellness Center) reaches out to thousands of people on a regular basis. We
received a tour of WHWC from the director that has helped us know what to do
throughout the trip and learned that they provides dental, medical, financial,
and social help to many individuals so that they could live a healthy life. We
ended our night by eating some wonderful fajitas and having some fun
fellowship. WHWC is more than a medical office it is truly a building that God
placed and supplied perfectly so that all of his wonderful people could receive
help and share his word throughout the world. We had a wonderful day and look
forward to painting and finishing the boxes tomorrow! –Brooke Illig

Last Day of Work!
Last Day of Work Field Report:
--> Blue Team
--> Blue Team
Today was the last official day working on the work sight.
It was a bittersweet experience. We were all excited about finishing our
project, but we also realized it was our last day on the reservation. Today was
a great day to finish up everything we started and it was super fun too! We
completed the lattice around both porches, and water sealed the floor boarding
of the porch. It was so rewarding seeing how thankful Mr. & Mrs. Sandoval
were. It was a great day, and a good way to end our mission trip (:
Red Team
Since we finished our main work site yesterday, Red Team mostly
hung out around the Basecamp. Our tasks were to clean out and organize the tool
and supply sheds located onsite. After several hours of hard, dirty work, the
sheds were and are still organized to the “T”! All of the garbage was taken by
Mr. Hanagarne and a small team of individuals to the Landfill Transfer Station.
Now there are two clean shed and many content workers! Thankfully, everybody
walked away from their last full day in Shiprock without injury. Both work
sites are complete and the team is ready to finally slow down.

Day 3 in Shiprock!
Work Report Day 3:
-->
-->
Blue Team
Today we finished our project from yesterday. We painted the
fence poles blue, we painted both the front and back decks blue, we started
putting lattice on the decks in the front. It was really cold this morning and
then was moderately cold starting after lunch. We all worked hard and we are so
close to finished.
Red Team
Today was an extremely fun and eventful day!! We stripped
the old paint of the walls of a tattered shed and then, wait, are you ready…?
Cut and painted the trim, cut and put up siding, and then painted the ENTIRE
shed! We FINISHED! Woo! We also demolished and rebuilt a set of stairs. It was
also really nice to build a relationship with the local minister, Pastor Craig.
What a cool dude! All in all, it was a FANTASTIC day full of fellowship and
fun. (-:
