Work Day 4!

Our final work day is complete and tomorrow morning we will head to Hot Springs, Arkansas for a fun day before we head back to Rockwall Saturday morning!  Just a note of change, we will be staying at the Super 8 in Hot Springs instead of the church due to a last minute conflict.  After all the hard work this week the nice comfy beds will be a welcomed treat!

Daily Notes:
Today was a very long day! Luckily Paul and Trina let us sleep in an extra hour so we were a little bit awake throughout the day… After a long day of digging trenches and putting up more and more walls we waved goodbye to our house one last time headed home.  All together we accomplished two very large trenches and something around 10 walls that we cut, built, and put up ourselves!! Finishing a great last day in Missouri with breakfast for dinner, cleaning for a good two hours, and an amazing worship service were all ready to go to sleep!!

Work Day 2!

Trusses are up!!  Our house is almost ready for a roof and and a LOT of dirt work was done to prepare for good drainage.  We celebrated a great day of team work Texas style with "taco Tuesday" this evening for supper.

Daily Notes from Cate:
HEY! Today was a great day! We woke up early, and actually got to the worksite on time (crazy, I know). The morning was quite chilly, and windy. It made things interesting… After lunch the wind died down and it warmed up to…drum roll please...TO T-SHIRT weather! Crazy! I know. We also managed to dig a trench, hoist up all of the tresses, and add walls to the once open room, all while having WAY too much fun! After a long day of work, we came back to our host church and chilled. Taco Tuesday made for a hearty dinner, topped with some of Trina’s homemade salsa. (On point, by the way.)  After dinner, we celebrated my birthday with cupcakes, and I somehow ended up with icing on my face and my hair? Why, I have no clue. It was a GREAT Tuesday ended by a beautiful worship.

Work Day 1!

Despite our late start this morning, we got lots of great progress accomplished framing walls and beginning the roof of our first house!

Daily Notes from Sarah McCulley:
After playing in the unexpected snow this morning, we headed off to our work site. Where we built two wall frames, and the starlings of a new roof. We came back to our host church and enjoyed some Lasagna dinner as well as ice-cream and pie in celebration of Mason’s birthday. Later we separated into small groups to discuss our day. We ended the night with singing in worship together.

Pre-Work Day SNOW!!

While waiting on work site assessment, our Texas kiddos ate up playing in the snow flurries!  What a great way to start the day!
