The Mystery Unfolds...

The first leg of our mystery trip found us in Ennis, TX at the Galaxy Drive In Movie Theatre! We watched the Smurfs in 3-D and played some miniature golf. So far so good! Where are we headed next?? No one knows!

This is everybody as we're getting off at Ennis

And eventually we made our way to the Tabasco Plant at Avery Island...

And eventually to New Orleans - pictures hopefully eventually to follow from there.

Now we are tucked in for the night at Broadmoor UMC in Baton Rouge, LA.

Day 8 - One More Day on the Beach

After a great last day on the beach, we've retired to our hotel and await an early trip to the L.A. airport to start the journey home.  Here are some videos that we weren't able to post before of some of the antics of tour.

Day 7 - A Day With Caged Animals

Today we visited the San Diego Zoo! Not only was it one of the biggest zoo's I have been to but it also by far one of the coolest things many of us have experienced. Showing up at 9 am and staying till 5 pm may have seemed like forever but it was well worth the long walks, confusing trails, and the relatively hot weather (for California at least.) Julia and I discovered today that the monkeys were by far our favorite attraction! As we were leaving the exibit a small monkey came over and called us. As tempting as it was we decided to not bring it home with us. Later that day BK changed his favorite animal from the lion to an otter as he watched the otter swim up and down the waterfalls, enjoying the first day without California's 'June Gloom'. Overall we had a great day roaming the zoo and speding time with all of our other choir mates. I couldnt have asked for a better day outside!

Day 5 - Church Stuff

Today, we were extremely blessed to be part of two worship services! Early this morning we sang at our first host church, Fountain Valley UMC. It was a very different service, but was very enjoyable. Once that service was finished, we hopped a quick ride to Huntington FUMC. There, the crowd was small, yet you could sense the family atmosphere. Both sermons were WONDERFUL, and both extremely intense. We ate an AMAZING lunch hosted by Huntington FUMC. Once we said our goodbyes, we drove to Sand Diego. Here we were warmly welcomed by the Foothills UMC youth group. We played an intense game of capture-the-flag and we were treated with ice cream. (actually it was there welcome-the-sixth-graders night... but oh well!) We then talked and laughed with kids from the youth group here and, had a great night! Tomorrow we'll go to the U.S.S. Midway and head to the beach! Can't wait!!!!

Day 4 - Serving the Homeless

We were blessed with the opportunity to share with homeless folk on two different occasions. We sang for the Welcome Home Ministry here at Fountain Valley UMC where we are staying. This is a ministry that offers a time of shower, laundry, devotion and breakfast for people of the neighborhood. We were blessed to be able to sing part of our musical for their devotion time. Our own Jack Eidson also shared a few words and there was a tasty breakfast provided by the church to follow. Then we made lunches and headed out to a park in LA to offer lunches to individuals there. After finding recipients for all our lunch, we headed to walk the Santa Monica Pier before heading back to church for a night of relaxation and a great homemade spaghetti dinner.
