Waco Wackiness...

Day 4 & beyond: The day we had all been waiting for had finally arrived. One word… Sea World! As soon as we all entered Sea World, we went our separate ways. It was going to be a fun day kicking it in the sun and sitting poolside enjoying our summer vacation. I would have to say for all of us that it was hot, but that’s what the water rides were for. By the time we all got settled at SeaWorld we were ready for our first water ride. It was called Trip to Atlantic and it ended up being my favorite. After our amazing trip to SeaWorld we went to Hotel 8 and got a full nights sleep for another busy day ahead of us. The next morning we loaded the bus and headed to get some yummy breakfast at Chick-fil-a. After the best breakfast of the week we drove about four hours to Waco. We ate at all different types of fast food places and then headed to the Dr. Pepper plant. The tour guide lady did not like us very much but that’s ok, it made it more fun. We got some free Dr. Pepper and then got on the bus and headed to the Methodist Children’s Home were we preformed our last time. We had a mixed crowd that laughed a lot. There were some nice people who were very thankful we came to share our story. For me this trip has been amazing and life changing in many ways. I have met some very nice and loving people that I will never forget. We are all very sad that today was our last day but we know that there will be more fun memories in the future.

Walmart, the Alamo, Sea World, & Beyond...

Day 3: The every so adored Walmart stop is finally arrived! We all ran to find Silly Bandz (animal bracelets)! Some of us ran to find a good Coke, other the bracelets, and then there’s those who actually got things they forgot.

And we were off to the Alamo! But first we must stop at Mi Tierra to have lunch! A Mariachi band came and preformed for us. We went to the Alamo to refresh ourselves on our Texas history knowledge. Some, very interested, others…not so much. Nonetheless, we had fun! After the Alamo there was some time for….SHOPPING! Up and down the River walk we paraded. Stopping by numerous shops, Starbucks, and restaurants, we were exhausted. After, the girls got to go to homes and the boys had to tough it out in the church gym.

Day 4: In some houses it was a rush to beat the clock and be at the bus on time, others had a more peaceful morning. Once on the bus we were off to Sea World! We get there an hour before the gates opened but once they did, there was not a single line at the roller coasters. By noon, we are all tired and have seen every attraction and ridden every ride multiple times. In the group I was in we helped lost kids find their parents, so we felt we had done our good deed. We had lunch, rode more rides, and drifted asleep in shows. Sydney and I rode the Steel Eel 35 times! I enjoyed this trip a lot! There’s still more days to come!
Hope these next days are as fun!
See you soon,
Lauren Davis

Onward to San Antonio...

After a day of touring caves and the vanishing river boat ride in the hill country, we performed at Highland Lakes UMC in Buchanan Dam, TX. We stayed overnight with families from this gracious congregation. With a good night's rest, we now head towards San Antonio to see the sites and prepare for Sea World tomorrow.
